Spokane International Railroad (SI, Spokane subdivision of Union Pacific) was built from Spokane to Mineapolice. The railway is recently belongs to Union Pacific Railroad (UP). From Spokane, Spokane International RR goes east along with 90 Interstate Highway and pass the grand junction at the Post Falls (Kootenai, ID) at which 3 railway crosses, and then toward nort east. The line will go up with 95 higway and cross the Nothern Pacific Railroad at Athol, Kootenai county. Then, go into the Bonner county and go north west to Clagstone. The "SI" goes up to north and cross the Pend Oreille River and join with branch line of BNSF, along with number 2 highway pararelly and arrive at Sandpoint. In Sandpoint, "SI" goes north between 5th and 6th avenue, cross the BNSF junction line.The line is up to Eastport, north Idaho and there the line is connected to Canadian Passific Railway. Sandpoint is the city where 3 railway cross each other. They are the BNSF, Great Northern and Spokane International (SI). Sandpoint, where is famous for beautiful site is also the very important point for railroad junction.
