East Village
The East Village, from about 14th Street to Houston Street on the east side of Manhattan, is the place to go for any tattoos, piercings or crazy hair colors you've been wanting; this also makes it an ideal spot for people-watching. The East Village runs south from East 14th Street to East Houston Street. Avenue D forms the eastern boundary and Fourth Avenue forms the western boundary. The section of the East Village between Avenue A and Avenue D is known as "Alphabet City". It is also referred to as "Loisaida" by the Puerto Rican community that resides there.
