New York Shopping Information

New York Shopping - Shopping Area

Actually, in this small island of Manhattan, there are several great shopping area other than "typical" Fifth Avenue or Madison Avenue. Each area has its unique characteristics, for example, New York original brand in Nolita, unique and fashional boutique in MPD etc. In this corner, I will introduce those shopping area.

 Nolita & Lower East Side

If you want to find your best favorite brand, you would better visit Nolita or Lower East Side rather than 5th Avenue of Madison Avenue. You can find original brand, European new brand or custom made brand shops here. Nolita is northern neighborhood of Little Italy, bordered by Bowery Street and Houston Street. While, Lower East Side is located eastern Sara D Roosevelt Park and the center of the area should be Orchard Street.

 SOHO

Soho is the actually the one of representive shopping area in Manhattan New York. In comparison with 5th Avenue or Madison Avenue, indeed also Soho has the same brand shops, its characteriscic is rather mixture and well sophisticated atomosphere so that everybody take it for granted that the Soho is the most attractive, fasshionable and stylish area in the city. The main area in this area is the blocks surronded by Prince Street, Sprint Street, West Broadway and Broadway.

 Meat Packing District (MPD)

As you can imagine, it had been know as the are where a hundreds of meat packing shops were there. From the year 2004, new boutiques or hotels, restaurants opened and changed the area into the new style fashionable area. Even the traffic is rather inconvenient, the area also has bars and cafes therefore the evening to the night is the busiest time here. You can enjoy both shopping and nightlife.

 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue

If you wish to feel yourself as a celebrity, of course it is recommended to enjoy shopping on the Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue because most of the top brand have its boutiques here. Yes, actually Fifth Avenue should be the world most gorgeous street which will fascinate everybody steps on the way. Connecting by the East 57th Street, Madison Avenue is something like consequent avenue toward the Upper East Side. Most of the top brand also have the shops both on 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue. Someone says, Fifth Avenue for the visitors from the world, and Madison Avenue for the rich inhavitant in this city. It's interesting to experience those slight difference.

 Flatiron District

Flatiron district is the small area of Gramercy and part of Chelsea which is bordered by the 23rd street as the northern edge and 14th street as south. On both Fifth Avenue and Broadway, there are a lot of stores, cafe or the restaurants. The main shopping zone is concentrated on Fifth Avenue, including a lot of brand and fashion boutiques, followerd by Broadway between Union Square Park and Madison Square Park.
