Washington Monument, 169.3m (555 ft and 5 1/8 in.) high tower, is the tallest building in Washington D.C. because the city prohibited to build taller building than this, built as the memorial monument of first president of the United States of America, George Washington. From the top of the tower, the visitors can enjoy the observatory carried by the elevator in only 70 seconds.
