Spokane Sightseeing Information
Spokane attractions
Spokane, Washington is known as the Lilac City in the West, because in the spring time the City's Lilac trees are overwhelmingly in bloom, and there is a Lilac parade and festival every year.
Spokane's spirit and love of nature is reflected in our passion for outdoor recreation. Whether it's golf, water-skiing, rock-climbing or camping, Spokane is ready to host your next outdoor adventure. When the snow flies, Spokane offers Alpine and Nordic skiing, snowmobiling, and ice skating.
The Spokane area is also known as the cultural hub of the Inland Northwest. The Spokane Symphony Orchestra recently celebrated 50 years of outstanding performances. The Spokane Jazz Orchestra is the oldest performing jazz orchestra in the United States. The Spokane Opera House offers a regular season of Broadway hits, exciting concerts and international dance companies. The Spokane Arena is the site of world-class concerts and sporting events. We're also home to four community theaters and one professional company that offer a full season of comedies, dramas and musicals. Add art galleries, museums, and festivals, and you'll have to admit that Spokane has something for everyone!

Dads owe a lot to Spokane. Back in 1910, it was the first city to celebrate Father's Day. But Spokane is really a city for the entire family, offering picture-perfect scenery and enough amenities to keep everyone happy. Overlooking the beautiful Spokane River, the city is a major railway connecting point for the Pacific Northwest. Visitors can check out the famous Coulee Dam, listen to the Spokane Symphony, or relax in Riverfront Park, site of the 1974 World's Fair.
